Baseball might be dead

To start this is the first blog that I have ever done. I have absolutely no idea what I am doing and I appreciate everyone who takes time to share, like, or whatever else you could do to get this out to the masses.

I love baseball almost as much as football. Unfortunately I think we may be seeing the death of this sport as we know it. People already have a difficult time sitting down and watching a full nine inning game. Now that we are guaranteed a late start to the season and two weeks past when spring ball was supposed to start. This could truly be the end.

I try to read updates on the situation daily and every time it just gets more and more ridiculous. I'm not going to sit here and try to act like I understand the business side of baseball and how the pay side gets divvied out. I do feel though that the demands are not much considering that according to Pitchbook the average price of return for a MLB team between 2002-2021 was 669%. For context the S&P 500 returned 458% over that same time period. With those stats in front of you the Czar of Major League Baseball Rob Manfred had the balls to say  “If you look at the purchase price of franchises, the cash that’s put in during the period of ownership and then what teams have sold for, historically, the return on those (team) investments is below what you’d get in the stock market, what you’d expect to get in the stock market, with a lot more risk.” Does he think that fans of baseball are stupid does he think that we don't have any idea what's going on? `

Baseball is Americas past time and really has some work to do to get it back to the level that it once was. Even living in New England about an hour thirty between Boston and New York, baseball almost seems dead here as well. People don't talk about it anymore. Baseball is boring, stale, and full of crooked owners trying to make a buck off the backs of the workers that make them billionaires. Rob Manfred is a douche and while I think Roger Goodell is absolute garbage he isn't trying to destroy the sport that has him in the position that he is in. I truly believe in order for baseball not to die then these guys really need to get to a point of resolution and lets get this baseball season underway so we can watch the Braves go back to back.
